example skills focus

1. Offensive Decision-Making and Execution

What the plan focuses on:

Attacking closeouts:
Players learn to read and exploit defensive closeouts, deciding whether to shoot, drive, or pass. The levels (e.g., "Lv 1 Shoot/Drive," "Lv 2 Finishing v Help") build progression from basic to more complex scenarios.
Pick-and-Roll Work (P&R): Developing the ability to make reads in pick-and-roll situations, understanding how to exploit defensive coverage, and improving passing, dribbling, and shooting in these scenarios.
Scoring Without the Ball: Skills like relocating, using screens, and cutting to score efficiently without being ball-dominant.

How it translates: Players become adaptable offensive threats who can make quick, effective decisions against various defensive schemes.

2. Individual Scoring Proficiency

What the plan focuses on:

Shooting (Indiv/Match):
The emphasis on both individual and game-context shooting sharpens a player's ability to score efficiently, focusing on form, shot selection, and range.
Finishing Bag Work (1v1): Training on finishing through contact and under pressure improves scoring versatility around the rim (e.g., layups, floaters, reverse finishes).
Attacking Closeouts: Enhances the ability to score off the dribble and handle defensive pressure in one-on-one scenarios.

How it translates: Players become confident and skilled scorers with a variety of offensive moves in their repertoire.

3. Team Play and Spatial Awareness

What the plan focuses on:

Conditioned 3v3:
Smaller-sided games promote understanding of spacing, timing, and movement within a team setting. It emphasizes effective communication and off-ball movement.
Using Off-Ball Screens: Players learn how to read and utilize screens to create scoring opportunities for themselves or teammates.
Cutting Off Drives (W1): Teaches defensive anticipation and the offensive skill of spacing during penetration.

How it translates: Players develop a high basketball IQ, excelling in team environments and contributing to seamless offensive and defensive systems.

By following this plan, players progress not only in technical execution but also in game intelligence, adaptability, and situational awareness, essential traits for high-level basketball performance.
